We spent a week at the PlayaMaro Hotel and absolutely loved it! The hotel has a rustic charm , a little old-fashioned, but full of character. The staff were wonderful, so friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, safe, and right in the beautiful village of Maro. Food was tasty, and the atmosphere felt authentically Spanish. A great choice if you’re looking for genuine hospitality and a true taste of Spain.

Do not book this hotel if you want a stress free vacation.
The check in is supposed to be online…..NO!
It’s all done by various people on the phone that takes an hour to resolve.
Do not return to the hotel after 12.01 as the doors are locked with a pin that no one mentioned.
The hotel itself is nice with rooms that have vistas over the sea and the rooftop pool area is nice but tired.
There are better places to stay in Maro.
We did not get clean towels or bedding for a week, no problem but not 3 star.
This is a 1 star posing as a 3 star.
Not a hotel just a a place to sleep.
Seriously there are nicer places around Maro with better customer service.

A very disappointing experience. Very old rooms and furniture, and average overall cleanliness. No one at the reception desk. In addition, I left a pair of shoes in the room at checkout and when I wrote informing them about it (the very same day we left), they replied two days later that no shoes were found. No further comment.

We recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. While the housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the rooms clean, the overall condition of the furniture and facilities made the environment feel uncomfortable. Everything was extremely outdated — from the kitchenware to the beds, which were uneven and uncomfortable to sleep in.

There was no coffee machine in the room, which is something we usually expect. The kitchen equipment was old and worn out, which made it hard to enjoy even a simple breakfast. On top of that, the reservation system was a mess — we had to wait for hours due to disorganization and lack of communication.

Overall, although the cleaning staff did their best, the condition of the room and the poor reservation experience made our stay quite unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless serious renovations are made.

Athough the taxi from the airport was waiting and was very comfortable,from then on the service went downhill! I was able to get into the apartment well before 5 p.m.BUT it took over 3 hours to get a kettle and corkscrew! There was NO can opener in the flat nor large jug to put water in the fridge,no large bowl to make up trifle,etc.and only one chair! The latter items were never resolved. The flat was advertised as a double bed BUT was two singles together BUT two mattresses. The bonus was the small pool on the roof with sea views. Another nice thing was air-conditioning,very welcome in that heat! Online it said NO reception,BUT there was but some staff did not seem to know what they ere doing. It is also a long walk or bus ride or taxi to the town centre of Nerja. No wonder it was quite cheap! The flat I had was on the main road but here was not much traffic except early in the morning when the refuse vehicles came along at about 6 a.m!

Good location for the beaches at Maro and quieter than Nerja. Maro village is nice and we had good evening meals there. The pueblo needs to crack down on the very obvious drug dealing in the streets.|Our rooms were nice with a generous balcony. It was clean. But|-you need to take your own things for making coffee _ there is a hob and a microwave|-when we turned the air con, the fuse blew. |_the front door had been left wide open one afternoon when we got back. We were unable to close it after us.|We were there off season. Hopefully things are better organised during high season. If so, it would be avery nice place to stay.

The beds were so dirty and full of holes we had to sleep on the balcony. The room was filthy and The corners were full of spider Webb as if they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. A 4 bed room was just 2 bed and 2 couch with a developing mattress that looked like it was used as cover in the Second World War. I don’t recommend.

Do not book this hotel!!!!|I have travelled to a lot of places and this is not good.|Why?|The online check in is absolutely terrible.|They do not clean rooms or even fresh towels.|If you return after midnight you have to have a code to get in and that after an hour checking in was not given to us.|If you go no reception and online only then be online!!!|There are better options in Maro.
