We enjoyed our visit to this castle-museum. So many places we ventured to we had problems finding a place to park the car. Here there were parking spaces all over - a welcome difference.

We may have missed some details about the place as the tour was only in French. But we did read a lot of the signs in English and listening and watching the guide was entertaining. Even not being a French speaker I could definitely tell the difference between his French and the French I was used to hearing in Northern France. He was.... quite animated in his hand gestures.

The birthplace of Henry the IV and founder of the House of Bourbon if I recall correctly. Lots of materials and furniture on exhibit. I wonder though how much survived the Revolution as I had been told in another tour once that most castles were ransacked. No matter, it is all a very nicely laid out and maintained museum.

An interesting place to visit, if you know something about Henry IV of France.
Unfortunately there are only guided tours on French available, you can try to use their application to follow the guide during your visit, but in my opinion it is mostly useless.

A beautiful museum with rich history and breathtaking tapestries. The chateau is the family home of King Henry IV of France. There is a queue of 30mins to go inside the museum. Only group of 30 pax’s each time and every 20 minutes with guided tour in French. The experience is amazing and worthwhile the waiting time.

A gem in Pau! Where Henri IV, known as Henri de Bourbon, was born. He became king in 1572 and married The Queen Margot in August 18th. The castle is very well renovated, you can chill in the gardens with a spectacular view of Pyrénées...Charming city with an old town, located at 1h30 from the 'Cirque de Gavarnie' - one of the most beautiful place on earth for outdoor lover ?

El castillo por fuera muy bonito. Por dentro no hemos accedido porque el hombre de la entrada, con cara de pocos amigos y sin ganas de entendernos, nos decía que solo había acceso con un guía y en francés para adultos.
Interior no pa sillitas ni minusválidos. Había que dejarlas a la entrada

Este castillo vio nacer a Enrique IV de Francia y III de Navarra. Es de estilo medieval y está en perfecto estado de conservación. Se puede visitar por dentro, está amueblado y todo lo que hay en el interior es digno de ver. Cuesta 7€ la entrada y los menores de 25 años entran gratis. Fuera hay unos jardines que se pueden visitar gratis, no son muy grandes ni tampoco espectaculares, pero no está mal pasear por ellos.

Bonito castillo y bien cuidado. Las visitas guiadas sólo son hasta las 11:00, así que, si no llegas antes de esa hora tendrás que visitar el castillo por tu cuenta. La ciudad es muy bonita. Pequeña y accesible. Merece la pena visitar. En un día se ve todo, pero para disfrutar de los detalles es aconsejable estar más de 1 día.
